What are some good nutrition tips to keep your heart healthy?

At no point in time, should you ever not listen to your physician. Any time we start to look at those types of things in the scientific literature, there’s a lot of times where we see a positive correlation between high salt intake and then overall unhealthiness. The problem with that is with a lot of those studies is that they look at sodium intake without looking at the overall food content. The problem with those studies is that it shows that high sodium intake as a result of eating things like canned goods and bread that have a ton of sodium in them.

What are 10 ways to keep your heart healthy?

So if you do have sodium-based hypertension, make sure you cut down on your salt, most of us should be making sure that we limit our salt based on the types of food that we end up eating, not how much salt we end up adding to next we’re going to be talking about is going to be water intake, you need to make sure that you get in plenty of water throughout the day because it makes it that much easier for your heart to pump your blood throughout your body. If you will pumping something say like molasses through your veins. So it would take that much more work for your heart to get that liquid through your body.

The next one is going to be trans fats. So these are things that you find in a lot of things that sit on shelves for a very long period of time. But there are certain organizations out there that say there is no healthy amount of trans fats that you should have in your diet. One of the diets that I usually recommend is the DASH diet, which is very low in insults. And we always recommend people who especially have high blood pressure to watch how much salt that they’re taking in their diet. You might not remember that you’re giving yourself a little extra dash here and there, but anything that is frozen, or if you go out to restaurants, you need to look at the nutrition label, you need to see how much salt is actually being added to preserve the foods that you’re about to consume. When you eat too much salt, your lood pressure rises.

So we really need to make sure that we consume less than two grams or 2000 milligrams a day. I love vegetables. with vegetables, you can kind of mix a lot of different varieties. I was given that I’ve chosen to be gluten-free because of some food sensitivities. This is an amazing option. Here you have is your spaghetti squash, and you’ve also got butternut squash.

Some simple things you can do to help alleviate that. So one of the most common complaints that people have when they come to physical therapy is that they’re experiencing upper back and neck pain. This makes sense because of how much of our day we spend with our arms up and our shoulders engage.

Tension in neck and shoulders from anxiety

This looks like talking on the phone driving in your car typing on the computer. So what I’m going to do is show you. A simple stretch that you can do to help alleviate some of that stress in your upper back. And your neck to tide you over to your next massage. So one of the most common places that people carry their stress is in their upper back of their shoulders. To find the trigger point, you would reach find your shoulder blade. Go to the very top of your shoulder blade, and slightly in towards the midline of your body.

How to relieve tight shoulder muscles

This is the trigger point in the upper traps. Sometimes it feels good just to put pressure directly on that trigger point or to gently squeeze the upper traps. So this is a great upper back and neck stretch that you can do. Because you can do it anywhere that you have a place to sit down to find a firm sitting service. This can be your office chair, a chair at home, or you can even do this in your car. And what you’re going to do is you’re going to take your hand. And you are going to depress your shoulder blade down.

So you want to use something to ground your hand. At the same time, you’ll take your other hand and you will gently pull your neck away from the side that’s hurting. So if I’m having pain on my right side, I’m going to pull my neck slowly to the left. And you’re going to want to hold that stretch for about three to five seconds and you can do that stretch eight to 10 times.
